Oh my God! Uber-squishiness. Roger and Mirka got married.
I had always assumed that if Roger was going to get married, he would just do it under the radar, and then release a short statement afterwards. Seems like I was exactly right. The guy’s control freak when it comes to his privacy. And a gorgeous (but married) one at that. I loved how he said “Mr and Mrs Federer wish all of you a happy Easter weekend”. Awww, newlyweds.
For all intents and purposes, Roger and Mirka had been married all these years, and I think they’re going to have a very happy life together. Congratulations! Now CAN WE GET AN EFFING PHOTO?!
(Hmmm … and it seems like Roger beat Pandy to the alter too. Here I was thinking that Andy was going to get married before Roger for sure. Mentioning Andy, rumours have it that ARod’s wedding is about to be announced either this week or in the next.)
Dear Fans
Earlier today, in my hometown of Basel, surrounded by a small group of close friends and family, Mirka and I got married. It was a beautiful spring day and an incredibly joyous occasion.
Mr. and Mrs. Roger Federer wish all of you a Happy Easter weekend.
Love,
Roger

GAH! SO CUTE!
Aw, congratulations. I bet he cried!
^Oh I bet he did. I betcha his vow was also so corny that I would be keeling over with the extreme-sweetness.
^ slicey – if he did make some corny vow, it would probably be in swiss german. Not a language I generally associate with extreme-sweetness.
But I wouldn’t be surprised if he did cry. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s the kinda guy that faints when his wife goes into labour. Weddings, babies – its’ all happenin’ isn’t it?
And icelollypalooza, I’m going to link your blog. It makes me hungry.
I bet Mirka tucked away an extra hankie, knowing he’d need it!
There must have been a few happy tears. I’m so happy for them! They’re both pretty private so the small ceremony makes total sense, I wish they’d release at least one photo though.
Thanks dootsiez.
