1) They named the Basel Swiss Indoors stadium after Roger Federer.
2) They gave him a plate on the city’s walk of fame.
3) Their football club, Basel FC, is planning to wear special shirts to commemorate Federer’s historic 15th slam in their season opener against St Gallen. (via 20minuten)
Perhaps this was to return the love Roger showed his football club during practice at Wimbledon.
The bummer is that these “Federer Fifteen” shirts will not be commercial available for sale, which begs the question: so what’s the point?
Pity, ‘cos they’re a whole lot nicer than the RF 15 tees and caps.
