How far we’ve come: okay shit, I love Rafa too.

I’m on a youtube binge again for old US Open series ads. Remember this?

Oh Rafa! I love you and your … tongue.

With Federer doing alright again, I am feeling rather treacherous.

A brunette Kuzzy, fringeless Sharapova, and a still relevant Vaidisova … ah the good old days.

I think I still like the old road trip ads better. Here’s one from Fed last year that didn’t get a lot of airing time.

Okay, maybe I’m not feeling that treacherous after all.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

That blooper one was great, esp Rafa. He’s such a cutie.

    Miss Justine out there.

I’d luv to see Roger do the quirky thing – in a strange way I think it’d suit him. He’s geeky in a way I can’t quite put my finger on (specially in his long-haired early days).

If he wasn’t winning 15 Slams he’d probably be a hippy tech support guy that cracks digital rights mgt software for fun…

I don’t know where that disturbing image came from so don’t ask.

heeheehee I know what you mean Topspin. From what some of the French players say about him, I gather that Fed is actually quite a dork. After all this is the guy who did that weird hands thing with Stan, who giggles when he talks about his girlfriend/wife, and who cracks some seriously lame jokes in interviews at times.

But that’s my main beef with Nike’s marketing, that side of Federer almost never comes across in their ad campaigns. It’s always the suave effortless genius. It promotes the RF image as much as it does it a disservice.
