I hate waiting, and right now I’m going a little crazy waiting for Stanford to start next week so that I can get back into the groove of following non-slam tennis.
Another thing I’m waiting for is naturally the arrival of Babybear.
Fed’s not making it easier either, still no news of baby arrival, or whether he’s playing Montreal. And I’m not the only one awaiting this birth, with Babybear speculations rampant this week:
The record 15-time Grand Slam singles champion told Switzerland’s Blick newspaper that it is well possible that new mother Mirka and the infant could quickly become part of the Team Federer traveling team.
The recent Wimbledon and French Open champion said that everything is in place to make sure that life can go on in tennis as well as in the new family.
Blick said that a hospital room for the birth has already been booked with Mirka resting at home in the couple’s 200-square-meter flat at Bach on the shores of Lake Zurich.
Federer and Mirka have kept the birth details a secret, to be revealed after the fact. Blick speculated that the birth could come as early as Wednesday.
The “Wednesday” prediction comes from this Blick article. All this is just pure tabloid speculation of course, but let’s just say that you might want to keep checking RF.com in the next few days. After all, it’s been two and a half weeks since Wimbledon.
