Shrimp on the barbie?

Looks like the good folks of Western Australia will be tossing plenty of shrimp on the barbie this summer, with an absolute kick-arse field headed for the Hopman Cup 2010.

As if the combined attraction of Stosur/Hewitt wasn’t enough in this country, so far four other teams have been confirmed with Dementieva/Andreev representing Russia. Snow White and his dwarfette are teaming up for USA.

And today, the organisers announced the attendance of Lisicki and Kohlschreiber for Germany, and Cirstea/Hanescu as Romania’s first entry in the tournament.

Likey likey.

And what’s this I hear about a possible Murray/Robson collaboration?

Tennis in my time zone. Oh yeth …

AWESOME,and from a Brit perspective really hoping Murray/Robson actually do pair up!
The line up gives the Hopman Cup way more of a profile boost, although,I think there needs to be some sort of ‘All I Need Is A Picket Fence’ campaign to get this couple back in the competition… 😛

Hey if Kimiko can do it, why not Mirka?!

I personally wouldn’t mind Martina coming down to do a few matches with Fed either…

You have my vote too 🙂

      • FortuneCookie says :

Someone asked Wertheim in the SI mailbag a few weeks back if he thought there was any chance of Mirka ever making a comeback, his response? “We’re more likely to see Switzerland go to war than that happening” 😉

LOL but Martina and Fed would be amaaazing!Mainly for the fact that Fed clearly had a huge crush on her back in the day… She’d have to be careful with Mirka in the stands now! 😛

Okay maybe not: Roger, Martina, drunken kiss in a nightclub, 3 month suspension for testing positive to cocain…

        MY WORST NIGHTMARE.

          Hahahaha OH.GOD.
That actually reminds me,when that HILARIOUS official report about Richie and Pamela came out,I immediately thought ‘Can you IMAGINE if,it had been say,Roger (imagining Mirka had never been in the equation obvs 😉 ), and him having to explain that kind of thing to a court?
It’s just IMPOSSIBLE to imagine haha, and leads onto something else I was talking about with a friend during US Open,we were trying to imagine if he’d never met Mirka what kind of woman he’d have ended up with…It was when the million rain delays were on,we were bored lol!
But would he still have been the, find a nice, supportive girl kind of guy, dated another player,or done the whole modeliser and/or date a celeb routine à la Safin or Roddick?Good to have this when you’re slightly drunk haha, and imagining all the possible WTA players he could pair up with… 😛

        • dootsiez says :

Well I wouldn’t be living in Australia if Mirka hadn’t existed. 😉

I’m pretty sure Fed would’ve still gone for someone in the tennis world – he’s the sort of person who needs his gf/companion to be as much of a tennis nerd as he is. I mean, not a lot of women would be willing to travel to Montreal 2 weeks after giving birth to twins!

I see him with someone like Dementieva.

        Thanks!Now,what to have…
Dementieva was totally our guess if he dated in the WTA as well!Clearly meant to be…Or Martina of course!
Ivanovic also came up,just for combined hotness/cuteness,and they both live in Basel 😉

I thought about Ana. Something tells me Roger wouldn’t have time for Ana’s troubles.
He’d like someone to be his rock, not his waterfountain 😛
