Quotable Quotes: An Alright Kid.

“You can always lose in Rotterdam, you can always lose in Indian Wells – but it’s [worrying] if it becomes a bit of a trend, and now with the clay-court season looming it’s obviously not a good sign for him.

“Andy not playing well for three tournaments is not that big a surprise for me – I struggled hugely when I was between 19 and 23, so for it to happen once in a while, I don’t think it’s that much of a worry.

“It’s important he picks it up before the French [Open] and Wimbledon, but he’s too good a player to continue like this, so he’ll be all right.”

– Federer on Murray, in an interview with SkySports

And so Wogie and Toothface continue their strange relationship of public defiance and grudging admiration.

To be honest, with the overabundant declarations of undying love in men’s tennis these days, I kinda like the fact that Wodge and Muzz are a little stingy with compliments towards each other.

EDIT//

It’s been reported that Ivan has offered to Lendl a hand and coach Murray (shut up, I tried really hard).

Barring a personality clash, I can’t think of a better fit for Murray than Lendl – just think of the mental comfort Muzz will gain from having a coach who lost his first 4 grand slam finals.

If Murray makes 19 major finals and wins eight of them, will there be any British tabloids left?

    Mother.

    Of.

    Mercy.

Anyone telling Murray what to do and not being his ‘pal’ will constitute a personality clash 😛 (except Mum. But we all know how that goes… you don’t talk back to yer mum.)

Rogi stood for Roddick when he was being written off, too. And Roger knows what it’s like to be written off, so he’s just practicing good karma. 😉
