Picspam: French Philosophy.
The French philosopher Voltaire once said: “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to Federporn.” *
Dootsie’s life was elevated to the status of French philosophy yesterday, as I received this backhanded gem of an email from a Picket Fence reader – Dominique – who’s at the Wogers Cup in Montreal this week.
Never been a fan of Roger but I still really like your blog for some reason. I also disagree with 90% of what you write but I still think you’re one heck of a chick. Crazy innit? So anyways, I was hanging out at the Rogers Cup today and took some pictures of your guy hitting with Stan with you in mind. Nothing earth-shattering but some nice practice session shots. If you have an e-mail address, I can send you a few – if you want them that is. After all, I took them for you! 🙂
Yes ahem, Dominique. You “took them for me” eh? *airquote fingers* And not because Roger Federer was so insanely magnetic that all camera lenses just gravitated towards him like fat kids towards fries, eh?
THAT’S WHAT THEY ALL SAY.
Also from the email,
… Wogie was quite busy being his annoyingly awesome self, totally showing off with trick shots and crazy overheads… It was great. Also, you can let the haters know that Mr. Federer DOES pick up after himself. Spent a good 5 minutes picking up his trash… 🙂
Oh that darling boy. So responsible. So well-mannered. I hereby nominate Roger Federer for UN SECRETARY GENERAL.
Thanks Dominique! Just what I needed on a Sunday morning in Aus.
*** I lie. To dispel accusations of historical inaccuracy and patriarchalism, the quote was in fact not by Voltaire (but often misattributed to him). The original quote was used by the English writer Evelyn Beatrice Hall to describe Voltaire.
