Picspam: I Robot.
Look at you, in your robot tee, hitting those backhands like a hot potato! Yes, Woger McFed has arrived in Toronto ahead of the Rogers Cup next week with his brand spanking new coach. He has avoided being drawn into the same half as Rafa, although, given the tough times, I’m not sure it means much.
But a picspam is no place for gloomy tennis talk. It is the place for robots, and practice tees, and the curious effect of light on those chocolate swirls. When times are tough, we take refuge in picspams. Ay ay you say? The ays have it!
Meanwhile, Rafa presented the draw ceremony at the CN Tower. A Frazzle Post (remember those?) will be up tomorrow for those still prone to the affliction of frazzling.
Don’t look too hard. You might find a metaphor.
Taking helicopter rides, playing street tennis with the tournament promotors, Rafael Nadal has certainly been “ote and abote” in Toronto, to exhaust my knowledge of the Canadian accent. (Incidentally, if you ever needed to tell a New Zealander apart from an Aussie, ask them to say “I had sex six times.” I had six sex times.)
I may or may not have made that up 😛

From the experience of my Canadian cousins I’d say it’s more ‘oot and aboot’ 😛 Although Quebec is a whole other hilarious kettle of fish with the ‘we sound like Amercans speaking French’ thing… ‘la vi-and ey cehns dollars veyn’ (yep that was a tough one to understand in a restaurant!)
But as for frazzling I just hope he doesn’t lose to Berdy again!

I had a Canadian lecturer once and the accent is mostly American, but with some bizarre Aus/British elements to it. Like they say “pro-cess”, and not “prauuu-cess” like the Americans.

The pink shirt from the other practice is also the robot. I got some good pics when he came to sign autographs — but didn’t manage to get an autograph 😦 Still, was nice to get so close.
